From first note to the stage
No auditions, no pressure, no jargon. Here's exactly what happens from the moment you book a trial to the day you take a bow at a recital.
Book a trial
Pick an instrument and a time. Your first 30-minute lesson is just $20 — a real lesson, no commitment, credited if you enroll.
Meet & make music
You’ll play something on day one. We’ll find your starting level together and talk about the songs and goals you care about.
Get your plan
You leave with a simple, personal practice plan and a regular weekly slot that fits your week — in-studio, in-home, or online.
Play & perform
Weekly lessons, take-home practice, and — when you’re ready — a turn on stage at one of our two recitals a year. Progress at your pace.
Small, steady practice — not pressure.
You’ll leave each lesson with a clear, doable practice plan — often just 10–20 focused minutes most days. Consistency beats intensity, every time, and we celebrate the brave attempts as much as the clean takes.
Songs you love
We weave the theory and technique around the music you actually want to play. Motivation does the heavy lifting.
A plan that fits
A personal weekly practice plan you can actually keep — adjusted as you grow, never one-size-fits-all.
A stage when ready
Two low-pressure recitals a year. Perform solo, with a friend, or just come watch. Always your choice.
In Asheville & everywhere online.
The things everyone asks.
- All of them. We start piano and violin as young as 5, guitar and drums around 7, and voice around 8 — and we love adult beginners, including total first-timers and people returning after decades away. The oldest student this term is 71.
- More than okay — it’s our favourite place to start. Most of our students began as complete beginners. You’ll play something real in your very first lesson, and we move at exactly your pace. Progress at your pace is the whole idea.
- For piano, guitar, and voice, online lessons work genuinely well with a phone or laptop and a decent connection — many students mix in-studio and online around their week. Violin and drums we recommend in-studio at least to start. Online lessons also cost a little less.
- We ask for small, consistent practice rather than marathon sessions — often just 10–20 minutes most days, less for the youngest students. You’ll get a clear, doable weekly practice plan. Consistency beats intensity every time.
- Never required, always available. We hold two low-pressure recitals a year where every student who wants a turn gets one — solo or alongside a friend. Many students surprise themselves and find it’s the highlight of the year. Stage fright welcome.
