Brightkey

Meet Marisol Quaye

It started at a secondhand upright in a sunlit living room — and a belief that learning an instrument should feel like joy, not homework.

Brightkey began at a secondhand upright in a sunlit Asheville living room. After years on conservatory stages, Marisol Quaye wanted something the concert hall could not give her: the moment a nervous nine-year-old plays their first whole song hands-together, or a forty-year-old finally fingerpicks the tune they hummed for decades. Brightkey is built around that moment — patient, joyful teaching that meets you where you are and gets you to the stage when you are ready.

Eastman-trained pianist and vocalist who has spent sixteen years teaching everyone from five-year-olds to retirees. Founded Brightkey in 2014 to build the patient, joyful studio she wished she’d had as a kid.

Brightkey is built on a simple promise: you’ll play something real in your very first lesson, you’ll learn the songs you actually love, and you’ll only ever take the stage when you want to. We teach in-studio in Asheville, in your home, and live online — kids, teens, and adults, total beginners included.
